The Black Booties Search 2013 is on!
The thing with black boots is that they’re more than a fashionable item but rather an absolute survival tool. The challenge is find a pair that’s practical and in-style all at the same time, so that your cost per wear justifies the overall designer price tag. Then again, with 7 days per week, one pair is never enough…
As the fashion capital becomes drenched under a cloak of grey and light drizzle, the pressure is on to stock up before socks replace stockings, so to help you find a few perfect pairs, I’ve done some of the hunting for you…
Fendi
Fur trim and a most unusual heel make this a chic and sophisticated pair. It’s available at the Fendi boutique as well as the multi-brand Vierre store, both on Via Montenapoleone.
Giuseppe Zanotti
Step into the Giuseppe Zanotti boutique on Montenapoleone or visit the upmarket La Rinascente department store to check out this sexy collection. Brave the weather in open-toe booties or rock the season in a fully studded pointy pair that willy look great with skinny denims and a cropped biker jacket.
Casadei
I just can’t stop finding something new to love in the boutique on Via Sant Andrea. This pair is not over-the-top yet it’s different. It has a classic shape with a gold heel for added glamour. Most of all, I Like the length. Not to long… Not too short… Simply perfection.
Dolce and Gabbana
This sueded boot is rather ordinary with its round toe and platform-less design, but the thick heel is covered in a beaded floral pattern to incorporate a bit of bling. Find it at Vierre on Montenapoleone.
Cesare Paciotti
Make a statement in these daring boots. I prefer the protective spiky metal toe, suede and patent leather combination over the strappy pair.
Bottega Veneta
Masculine detailing and design lends this lace-up boyish charm. It’s a little too casual for my personal style but all things considered, the steady heel is a definite plus.
Chanel
The coupling of silver chains with glossy leather in such a casual design is interesting and difficult-to-ignore but that said, it does seem to ooze youthfulness and comfort.

There is just something totally charming about those Bottega Veneta booties.
