My Best Summer 2012 Shoes spotted on MonteNapoleone

Via MonteNapoleone is one of the world’s most exclusive shopping streets and for good reason. There is no shortage as to the artistic flair that designer’s inject into their creations and with a European summer that will soon reach its peak, the best of the best footwear is enough reason to return to Milan as soon as possible. Splashes of sky blue, citrus and natural beige dominate my top selection…

Wedges are back in a BIG way this Euro summer providing additional surface area for interesting detailing like these Baldinini sling-back and closed pumps. Since I might be prone to tripping if I catch a heel in a crevice on the road, wedges also make walking on cobbled streets that much easier and a whole lot less risky – a definite addition to my July shopping list.

The flat pumps from Fratelli Rossetti are pretty versatile. Made from soft ivory calfskin, these have baby pink and beige detailing.

A trip into the Sergio Rossi store is always a treat. His designs are unusual and always glamorous like this neon colour-blocked pump which will look awesome with coloured denims or cropped pants. The tri-colour PVC sandal is like an eye-catching sunset and boasts a 10.5cm heel, but an absolute beauty is the mermade bootie with Swarovski crystals tracing each scale.

The Bruno Magli collection offers a range of patent bags and footwear in blue, red and black. I like this elegant peep-toe platform pair but even more fascinating are these wedge sandals – an innovative twist borrowed from their creative director, Max Kibardin’s genius streak.

And finally, Dior rotated these exquisite heels in their boutique window. It’s a bling pair that holds the foot and secures the ankle with leather straps and chains – LOVE it!
