A crazy day… I started the day rushed off my feet and it ended no differently. I woke up an hour later then I had planned to, I could not decide what to wear and to top that off, I had very badly underestimated weekday traffic from Segrate to the city centre.
I arrived at the Proedi offices at around 11am, and was greeted by naughty growls inspired by my animal print bolero. Isa and I drove to the new Faraone store on MonteNapoleone for my interview with the CEO, Vittoria Bianchi. Tucked away discreetly, their new space is an intimate setting, beautifully set up and designed by architect, Luigi Marchettti. Victoria introduced me to their beautiful high jewellery collection as well as their composable collection of logo link chains, stoned hearts, butterflies and ladybugs which can be constructed by the wearer each day to make up your own bracelet, necklace, earrings and cuff links.
The rain had finally stopped and I took the opportunity to walk the street, iPad in hand, gathering as much information as I could from the store windows. I noticed that the revamped Fratelli Rossetti store was reopened sporting a beautiful range of mens’ shoes. Gucci still had traces of gold in their clothing and accessories but their pleasted dresses in black and white are classic yet very uniquely styled.
After downing a glass of orange juice at Cova Pasticceria, I walked from red container to red container along the road; each one filled with a design experience sponsored by Citroen adding definite vibe and character to the street on the eve of the Salone Del Mobile.
