Milan may be an organised circle of concrete blocks, but with the monumental Duomo at its heart, streets radiate in every direction oozing style through the local inhabitants and then there are the easy-to-spot tourists who flock to the city centre all year in search of hot-off-the-rack trends and designer garments.
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, built by 1877 and named after Italy´s first king, is an inevitable stop for exclusive high-end fashion. Connecting the Duomo and the La Scala Theatre, prices of clothing and food within this district, extending from Corso Vittorio Emanuele to Via Dante and beyond to Corso Garibaldi and Corso Como are certainly more costly (even the cost of a bottle of still water is outrageous) but you owe it to yourself to walk into at least one exclusive boutique with convincing confidence and walk out with several carry bags like Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’.
I had my ´Pretty Woman´ moment after I purchased a gorgeous knee-length cocktail dress from Luisa Spagnoli 🙂 With my large carry bag slung across my shoulder, I envisioned it…The peachy colour complimenting my skin tone perfectly and the rouched design as figure-flattering as always. Since I hope to wear my prized purchase to an upcoming wedding, I won´t be posting any pictures of my show-stopper just yet… 😉
I also took time to browse other boutiques in the complex: Louis Vuitton, Prada, NaraCamicie and Zadi…
