When I returned from Milan in September, I brought back much more than just my exquisite pair of Casadei heels and treasured memories of a once-in-a-lifetime experience as a guest fashion writer in a city where people breathe Bulgari and dream Prada.
Just as precious was my little black notebook filled with important brand facts, drafts of my personalized store descriptions and a complete A-Z list of every store based on Via Montenapoleone as well as several of the adjoining side streets.
It contained the kind of information that could only be gathered on-the-go, pen in hand and in person. It was the kind of information that would form the very basis of my next career highlight as a guest contributor towards a new, quarterly shopping guide to Milan that will be printed, bound and distributed in time for the January 2012 sale season.
I jet off to the fashion capital again this week and I am well prepared for an intense week of writing, blogging and capturing my thoughts about each store’s brand history, show-stopping products as well as my detailed descriptions about their in-store service and inspiration behind this season’s collections.
I was in Milan last December and no doubt, the city becomes a winter wonderland with Christmas decorations in every colour while buildings, trees and trams are covered in dazzling fairy lights. As icy as it will be at this time of the year, I will get right into the festive spirit as soon as I touch down. My bags are packed and despite the excess weight of winter gear, I packed lightly for a reason…My first mission will be to get my hands on a pair of Geox platform pumps and knee-high Baldinini boots so that I step out in style while I go about my fashion writing tasks… Oh, and I might just need a gorgeous long coat to complete the chic fashionista look… 🙂
I am absolutely ecstatic to be working with the Where Milan crew once again and I also cannot wait to catch up with friends that I have made during past visits. They are the most amazing people and spending time with each one of them is indeed another fabulous reason to indulge in all that the city has to offer… I look forward to munching ‘Aperitivi‘ with my buddies while they practice their English speaking skills at Palo Alto Cafe and enjoying Napoletana pizza and bottomless cups of gelato with my corporate climbing friends.
Wish me luck and subscribe to my blog to receive my updates via email… 🙂
